Every "top 10 sights in Da Nang" list looks the same. What actually changes the answer is who you are with — the place a group of friends loves can flatten a grandparent.
With small children
- My Khe beach — gentle shelf, moderate surf, 3 km from the centre. See the My Khe route
- Asia Park — the Sun Wheel, inside the city, best in the cool of the evening
- Mikazuki Water Park — indoor water park, works on a rainy day
- Than Tai Hot Springs — mineral pools and a children's pool, 35 km out

Green and quiet, for people who dislike crowds

- Rang and Nam beaches — small coves on Son Tra, far emptier than My Khe
Getting between them
Nothing in the 3–40 km band is walkable. For two people, Grab per leg is fine. From four people up — or with children or older relatives — hiring a car by the day usually costs less than the sum of the legs and is far easier: the car waits at the site instead of you re-booking each time.

Which Da Nang sights work with small children?
Asia Park, Mikazuki Water Park, My Khe beach and the Than Tai hot springs are all easy with kids. Skip Ban Co peak on Son Tra (a steep, winding road) and go easy on the Marble Mountains caves — there is a lift, so take it and stick to the level paths.
What is closest to the centre of Da Nang?
The Dragon Bridge and Love Bridge are in the city itself. My Khe beach is 3 km out, the Marble Mountains 8 km, Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra about 10 km. Ba Na at 25 km and Hoi An at 30 km should be treated as half-day or full-day trips.
Where should older travellers go in Da Nang?
The Marble Mountains have a lift, so they are comfortable; Linh Ung Pagoda is level ground; and the Than Tai hot springs suit older visitors well. Think twice about Ba Na: the cable car is easy, but the summit involves a lot of walking and runs 8 to 10 degrees colder than the city.
